Positivity Pays is an award-winning, community-driven organization dedicated to empowering youth through storytelling, literacy, and real-world connection. What began as volunteer mentorship has grown into a full-scale movement recognized for innovation, impact, and its ability to meet young people where they are.

In 2023, Positivity Pays was honored as a nominee for Innovation of the Year, a reflection of our unique approach to engaging youth through culture, creativity, and community-based solutions.

Our journey started with a simple mission: give young people access to guidance, opportunity, and examples they can relate to. Today, that mission has expanded into partnerships and collaborations with school boards, city leaders, and even federal-level initiatives, allowing us to scale our impact across multiple communities.

One of our most groundbreaking achievements is the development of “A Bad Rap,” a comic book focused on addressing teen violence.

This project has been recognized at the highest level, becoming the only approved comic book on teen violence supported by the U.S. Department of Justice—a testament to our ability to combine education, storytelling, and cultural relevance in a way that resonates.

Beyond publishing, Positivity Pays has worked alongside organizations such as the YMCA and the Boys & Girls Club, delivering programs and initiatives that inspire growth, confidence, and leadership in young people. Our work and message have also been featured across major platforms, including 103.5 The Beat, The Westside Gazette, and various media outlets that recognize the importance of shifting narratives in our communities.

At our core, we believe exposure creates opportunity. Whether through our literacy programming, trading card initiative, or community storytelling efforts, we are committed to showing young people what’s possible—by highlighting real stories, real people, and real pathways to success.
